Books have always been a tool to teach, inspire and empower me. Whatever issue I face, I turn to the guidance of those that have walked the path before me and who were so inclined to literally write a step by step process on the how to’s of their success. Most recently, I have been seeking out books to enlighten me on the spiritual path I’ve recently set forth on. I’ve always been spiritual in the sense of believing in something greater than myself, such as God, however over the last decade, my faith significantly diminished. With the help of a spiritual coach and a combination of good reads, my faith in the conscious universe has taken shape again in a whole new way.
Below I have added several books in which I’ve read over the last 2 months. Thank god for audio books because WOW, I was able to breeze through some of them in less than a week. Here I share a short take on the book and incorporated a little bit of my own personal experiences in regards to why I sought them out in the first place. I hope these books can inspire and empower you as much as they did me.
You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero – SOOOOOO GOOD. This was actually the first book I read as I started to depend my belief in the conscious Universe. Jen does a hilarious and super effective job in teaching us that money is energy and when we can shift our energy from one of lacking to abundance, we can begin to attract more of it. Prior to this book, my relationship with money was horrible. I had only negative feelings regarding it and by listening to the audio, I learned that my view of money was what was preventing me to get more of it in the first place. This book is actually spiritual AF. It was the beginning of my newborn relationship not just with money, but with the Universe as a whole. I literally want to listen to it again & I highly recommend the audio book! She’s super engaging.
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks – This book, also AMAZING, discusses our “upper limit” problems. This concept was ground breaking for me because up until the point of reading this book, I believed that I wasn’t capable of more than the limits I had subconsciously set for myself. I believed that I could only have so much success, love, happiness and freedom in life. The concept of our “upper limit” is that we were conditioned by our environment, whether it be from our parents, teachers, friends and/or society to believe that we are only capable of so much, and therefore we never exceed those limitations or aim for higher because we think it’s just not possible. We literally set ourselves up for failure over and over again because those repetitive patterns are all we know. Gay helps us recognize our personal “upper limits” and guides us into breaking through them so that we can live amazing lives. I also recommend the audiobook for this!
The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women by Valerie Young, E.D.- Do you ever feel like a fake, a fraud, an imposter? I recently learned that I struggle with something called the Imposter Syndrome. Basically, this psychological pattern causes us to doubt our accomplishments as well as causing us to be afraid that we might be exposed as a “fraud”. I was astonished (and a tad relieved) to hear that millions of people also struggle with this issue, especially women. Valerie does a thorough job in explaining the causes to why we feel like an imposter and shares numerous personal experiences of individuals she has worked with, including celebrities, CEO’s, politicians and many other successful professionals, that struggle with the very same issue. I didn’t finish this book, so if you do, let me know what you think!
The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein – This book was so great in helping me become more in tune with my connection to the Universe. I felt that the concepts she was trying to explain were easy to understand and that her techniques were practical. In this book, Gabrielle emphasizes the importance of meditation, which is something that I was long overdue for. It was actually right around the time that I started listening to this book that I was also beginning to practice meditation on my own. Here, Gabrielle shares many of her favorite meditations, as well as her amazing experiences that have come about from her relationship with the Universe. If you are looking to establish your relationship with the Universe and in turn yourself, I would highly recommend this book. It teaches us that the answers already exist within us and how we can access them at any time.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker – This book, again, only expanded even more my perspective of money. I’ve recently been getting into a lot of books regarding money, because quite honestly, money has always been a huge struggle for me and I refuse to let it control my life any longer. Harv also describes money as an energy force and teaches us to change our outlooks on money, because guess what, how we perceive it determines if we get any or not. Harv teaches us to think in abundance as opposed to thinking with the mindset of lacking. He teaches us to bless those that have which we want, as opposed to condemning them. He teaches us that every action we take is a reflection of what we get in return…To think big and not small. Again, it’s all energy! Highly recommend this book!
Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza – This book was recommended to me by a friend who had visited a spiritualist that highly suggested it to her. This book was an answered prayer, because personally, I NEED to know the science behind how things work in order to thoroughly apply it to my life. I believed in the power of energy, however had a hard time understanding how it works. This book does just that. I definitely suggest getting a hard copy of this book, as it’s heavy in scientific information and you may want to take a lot of side notes. It’s absolutely phenomenal and has really helped me understand this amazing energy force that we all have and share with the Universe.
Can’t wait to hear all of your thoughts!
